Operating Principle of the System
The tank is connected to a water supply source, and cold water fills the tank’s space. The circuit of the solar collectors is filled with a year-round heat transfer fluid, which is provided in the basic kit, according to the instructions. Heated by the sun, the heat transfer fluid rises from the collector space to the area around the tank due to natural circulation (thermosiphon principle). The heated fluid gradually transfers its heat to the water in the tank through the common wall.
The tank is protected by 40 mm thick insulation, and hydraulic protection includes safety valves in both circuits of the system.
System Components
The tank of the Altek LIGERO system is made of high-quality structural steel S235JR, coated with a glass-ceramic layer. The tank has a thickened internal wall (2 mm). The solar collector circuit is designed as a “water jacket” type heat exchanger, through which the year-round heat transfer fluid circulates.
The collectors of the LIGERO systems are perfectly suited for use in thermosiphon systems. The technical specifications are confirmed by the Solar Keymark certificate, and the quality and reliability are guaranteed by the manufacturer for a period of 5 years.
