The Altek SD-T2L-24 solar collector is an alternative innovative water heating system that provides hot water supply during the summer months, from April to November. It’s perfect for outdoor showers, as well as for your home or cottage. The system can supply hot water for a summer pool and is also used in greenhouses and conservatories. This solar collector belongs to the type of non-pressurized vacuum heliosystems.
Usage of Altek SD-T2L-24. The thermosiphon solar water heater consists of a tank (accumulator) and a solar collector connected to the tank. The transfer between the reservoir and the collector is regulated by gravity (the density of hot water is lower than that of cold water). Instead of a pump, the energy of movement is provided by the pressure difference between hot and cold. This is the “thermosiphon principle.” For the system to work, the collector (heat generator) must be positioned below the reservoir (heat consumer). The heat transfer fluid is heated inside the solar collector. The hot liquid in the collector is below the cold liquid in the reservoir above the collector. As soon as the hot liquid rises, gravitational circulation begins. Inside the cylinder, the heated medium transfers its heat to the hot water supply system, and then, after cooling, returns to the lowest point in the collector circuit.
