Principle of Operation of the System
The tank is connected to a water supply source, and cold water fills the tank’s space.
The solar collector circuit will be filled with a year-round heat transfer fluid, which is included in the basic package, according to the instructions. Heated by the sun, the heat transfer fluid will rise from the collector space to the area around the tank due to natural circulation (thermosiphon principle). The heated fluid gradually transfers its heat to the water in the tank through the common wall.
Tank protection includes 40 mm insulation, and hydraulic protection features safety valves in both circuits of the system.
System Components
The tank of the Altek LIGERO system is made from high-quality structural steel S235JR, coated with a glass-ceramic layer. The tank has a thickened internal wall (2 mm). The solar collector circuit is designed as a “water jacket” heat exchanger, through which the year-round heat transfer fluid circulates.
