Due to the viscous state, recombination of gases occurs: water breaks down into hydrogen and oxygen as a result of a chemical reaction; hydrogen and oxygen ions remain in the confined space of the battery, combine and form water again; Water is absorbed by the gel and the original volume of the electrolyte is restored. As a result, we get a maintenance-free battery, because the water in it practically does not evaporate.
